Halloween Safety Tips For Children


As the leader of the young Maple Grove outside the door for Halloween events and trick or treating, Maple Grove Police Department provides several properly.

Costumes

  • Keep costumes short and snug. Baggy, hanging or puffy costumes you can trip up kids when they go or may catch fire if brushed against Jack o lantern or candle flame. Avoid large, floppy shoes or adult shoes to prevent falling. Use only flexible plastic or rubber.

Street

Curfew

Maple Grove, part of Hennepin County, pursuing a policy of curfews. Curfew laws for Hennepin County are as follows:

  • Up to 12 years: House 21: 0000 on weekdays; 22: 0000 on Fridays and Saturdays

  • 12-14 years: a House at 10:0, Monday–Friday; 23: 0000 on Fridays and Saturdays

  • 15-17 years: home at 11 pm on a weekday; midnight on Fridays and Saturdays

The Department also recommends moving the Halloween decorations and pumpkins in a safe place, after trick or treating.
