US Offers India Partnership For Development Of The Joint Strike Fighter

Washington: the United States today has proposed to India a partnership in the development of the world's most advanced flying machine, the Joint Strike Fighter F-35, months after the loss of lucrative contract 10 billion United States dollars at 126 military aircraft.

Recognizing that India had recently taken the decision not to opt for the American F-16 and F-18 fighter aircraft was a "blow", the Pentagon said that remains interested in selling their top notch fighters to India.

"In spite of this failure, we believe us aircraft, such as the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF), to be the best in the world," the Pentagon said in a nine-page report to Congress.

"India should indicate interest in JSF United States would be prepared to provide information on JSF and its requirements (infrastructure, security, etc.) to support future planning India, "the Pentagon said in one of its kind report on India, submitted by the United States Congress.

F-35-all fifth-generation stealth fighter is being developed by United States weapons giant Lockheed Martin, in a joint consortium with eight other countries--Britain, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey, Canada, Denmark, Norway and Australia.

F-35 Lightning II boasts advanced airframe, autonomic logistics, avionics, propulsion systems, stealth and firepower at the most affordable cost.

United States has already taken some test flights of fighter aircraft. F-35 is the only other 5 3rd generation aircraft to fly around the world in addition to the F-22 raptors. Washington has refused to share technology Raptor with any other country, even his closest allies, Britain and Israel.
