Mangalore, 12 November: If you are looking for realism, it is better to go somewhere else. "Rockstar" is trying to be real, but not quite successfully. For those few hours at the theatre you can watch more wannabe college kid in the MEGA International rockstar and believe me, the trip will you scratching your head over how it all happened.

Rockstar life chaotically, to put it mildly, and the same can be said about the film, and in fact it is more of a troubled love with rockstar part of it as filler to keep the film going forward. Or rather, forward, back, forward, backward.

Station

In short this is a story of the boy next door Jhakar Janardhan (Ranbir Kapoor), who wants to become international rockstar Ala Jim Morrison. He said that the artist finds his real self only when he feels the pain and tragedy, and land at the feet of Janardhan Joachim Heer (Nargis Fahri), described as "Dil todne ki (heart break) machine" College. After a bit of a jarring comedy and screaming-at-the-top-of-her-voice Oswald Heer two strike a chord. You're wondering how a girl who is known to have been a lot of guys before suddenly opens up our easy guy to show side "never known before". You just sigh and beyond.

Oswald Heer married and goes to Prague and Janardhan, which is now suffers Jordon, all kinds of tragedies and eventual trip to Europe and become a rockstar with one execution, guess where-Prague. Below is performed after Jordon and media hounds, thrusting their microphones in his face stormy love, interspersed with rock concerts, staying in prison, screaming teens.

Type of relationship the two common, you can't help but remind Heathcliff and Catherine Storm. They are childhood friends and is the story of the same, but chemistry is similar. Oswald Heer, Jordon in agony, his attempts at its meeting, all reminders of the love that goes beyond the usual restrictions that Catherine and Heathcliff portray so well.

Nevertheless, the film is not that it doesn't touch you. You will not find myself pitying Oswald Heer or Jordon. Your heart will not weep for them, wouldn't you enjoy their joy. The film goes on and on, and runs forever. And then he suddenly ends.

Film

Cinematography is superb and deserves full marks. Kashmir in Europe the scenery is beautiful, and songs picturised well too. The real winner, however, is a r Rahman. His music keeps you awake and alive, and there are times when you just want to get out and dance together. More about music than the first and more interesting, and the second half. Screen play better as the story moves forward and backward chaotic manner. One moment he performs in concert, the next moment he was student of the police, and then you see his novel Oswald Heer, repeatedly and arbitrarily.

Presentations

See film for Ranbir Kapoor. This is the best reason to watch it, if not the only one. It's amazing, in his role, whether Jester wannabe rockstar or anger, but personally I felt rockstar images don't go with Ranbir, which is the best when he is likeable and giggly. At times, you tend to even take him for Arjun Rampal.

Nargis Fakhri looks exciting, but that's about it. Her acting skills need some adjustment, and those scenes where she should be angry, you get all the expressionless screams.

Shammi Kapoor's cameo is the only thing that really affects you, and needless to say, that scene, he appears in the do you want to look at and.

Piyush Mishra as a music agent is his perfect timing Dhingra comic. He has you warm, laughs especially in scene maalish.

The Verdict

The film is, at best, disposable watches. Director Imtiaz Ali didn't quite hit it, and you can't help but wish for flow and rhythm of his "Jab we met."
